A documented Vancouver installation
Protection planned across an entire residence.
This recent countertop protection project in Vancouver took place in another residence at Three Harbour Green in Coal Harbour. Rather than limiting the installation to a kitchen island, the scope included bathroom vanities, high-end furniture and tables throughout the home.
Several surfaces already showed fine scratches, dulled areas and evidence of regular use. The objective was to create a cleaner, more consistent polished appearance while placing a replaceable protection layer over the original finishes.
Each surface was assessed individually. Compatibility, existing coatings, edge details, seams, fixtures and the way each piece is used all influence whether countertop protection film is appropriate.

The original vanity showed fine wear and reduced visual clarity. The polished finish increased reflection and created a more uniform presentation while adding a protective layer for future use.

What the finish changes
Gloss enhancement—not a claim of repair.
Surface ProGuard Polished Finish enhances reflection, colour depth and gloss. On suitable surfaces, that change can soften the visual prominence of fine scratches, dullness and light wear beneath the film.
The protection does not physically repair chips, deep scratches, cracks or structural damage. Those conditions remain underneath and may require restoration before protection is considered. We document the existing condition so the expected result is clear before work begins.
Once installed, the film acts as a replaceable barrier that helps reduce direct exposure to staining, acid etching, fine scratches and routine abrasion. No surface is damage-proof, so normal care and the published aftercare guidance still apply.

Can polished protection hide existing countertop damage?
A polished finish can improve reflection and visual consistency, which may make fine wear less prominent. It does not repair chips, deep scratches, cracks or structural damage.
Can countertop protection be installed on vanities and furniture?
It may be suitable for compatible vanity tops, tables and specialty furniture surfaces. Every material, coating, edge profile and intended use must be assessed first.
Does polished protection change the appearance of marble?
Polished protection is intended to complement reflective stone by enhancing gloss and colour depth. A sample or surface assessment helps establish the expected appearance before installation.
