Marble sealer vs protection film

Two different approaches to protecting marble.

Penetrating sealer and clear marble protection film do different jobs. Understanding the difference helps homeowners, designers and builders choose protection that fits the stone and the way the surface will be used.

What marble sealer does

A penetrating sealer is intended to reduce how quickly liquids absorb into porous stone. It can provide useful stain resistance, but it does not create a physical barrier over the marble and generally does not prevent acid etching or surface scratches.

What protection film does

Marble protection film creates a clear, replaceable layer above the stone. Surface ProGuard helps defend against common spills, staining, etching and everyday wear while preserving a polished or honed appearance.

Which approach fits your kitchen?

The right choice depends on the material, finish, existing condition, cooking habits and visual expectations. We assess the actual countertop before recommending professionally installed film.
